Fans Can Make an Impact
I thought people only booed incessantly in Andyville

So, there was this show on Spike...

While watching Impact last night, one thing really stood out to me, and took me out of a lot of the event. It has happened before, and it will happen again, but last night, it really got to me.

In the Zone

Historically, the Impact Zone crowd has seemed to believe that they are the smartest smarks on the planet, and have tried to portray their collective image as such. The problem is that on many occasions, they have been such pushover marks that it is pathetic. Now, I think they have a grasp on the fact that the way they behave can help or hinder the promotion and what gets over.... I think. Sometimes I'm not really sure. Sometimes, like tonight, I start to think these folks are completely out of it.... or they have been watching too much WWE and have an agenda against wrestling as a whole.... or maybe WWE has some operatives in the Orlando crowd.... who knows?

Blah blah blah...

I've been rambling a bit, and I'm sorry, but I'm just trying to figure out the best way to get this point across without giving the wrong impression or sounding like a dumb mark myself. So, I'm watching Impact, and right away, in the first segment, where the new NWA Heavyweight Champion, Christian Cage, is coming to the ring, I hear it: a loud (at least on my surround sound it was very loud and apparent) little group of boos. Sure, it couldn't have been more than 10-20 people, but it was concentrated, and it was loud. Now, don't get me wrong. If they want to boo Christian, that's fine. What was disturbing was, as his promo progressed, every thing he said, whether it be a reference to WWE, or to TNA, or to himself was booed loudly by this small concentrated group. Well, since they booed everything out of his mouth, things that were meant to garner boos and cheers, they conflicted with themselves, so they obviously aren't that smart of marks. The new babyface champ getting booed on his first night isn't the best thing for TNA right now. A small faction of Cena haters turned 50% plus of the crowd against him toward the end of his first WWE Title reign, and WWE freaked out over it. Anyway, I just brushed this group aside as a small group of Christian haters who were just booing like crazy at his existence, or a group of mentally deficient chuckleheads who think it's hilarious to boo as loud as they can at random, and I just let it go.

Is that all?

If that was all, I wouldn't be going to the trouble of writing this. No, these people were far from done. All night, they booed everything. They booed every wrestler. They booed every spot. They booed every storyline. In summary, they booed TNA. It was inexplicable, but they just booed the hell out of everything. If they hate TNA, why do they go there? Is there no redeeming factor for them? The Cena haters would at least pop for Kurt Angle, Edge, or whoever else Cena was facing. Please don't tell me that WWE fans are smarter than TNA fans... my head might explode.

Why does it matter what a few assholes do in Orlando?

Well, if I heard it, I'm sure someone else did, and maybe that someone isn't as familiar with the product and the moderately retarded crowd in the Impact Zone. Maybe they would take the booing not as a dozen assholes who think they are being funny, but as a sign that even the built in fanbase of this product doesn't like it. Just sayin.....

Just sayin?

Now, before anybody says anything to me about it, yes, I do realize that it was just a miniscule fraction of the crowd doing this, and the rest of the crowd marked out just like they were supposed to.... but damn those douchebags were loud!
