Don't get me wrong. I'd probably still watch RAW if it was Doink the Clown and 43 midgets, but I'm still aware of when the product is stale, incoherent, or just plain bad. For a while now, it has been some combination of the aforementioned. Coming out of Wrestlemania though, somebody really got their act together, because, for the first time in a good while, WWE has produced two consecutive solid RAWs. They seem to be working to get more people implemented into the mix, and to seriously advance more than one or two storylines in one night. Sure, they haven't got the must see product quite yet, but they seem to be pointed in a good direction. Hopefully, they can keep up this momentum for a while, and not totally botch these nicely budding Spring storylines. Still, there are just some things that I want to say here. It's not really criticism as much as it is observations and some thoughts that come to mind. |
For two weeks now, Triple H has come out to the new "Bow Down" tune for promos, and the old "Game" tune for matches. Hmmmm, where else can they go with this? What about contract signings? How about a song that declares him the Pharoah of the fountain pen? |
Lets review: |

| Uhhh, I'm going tweener here, but toward the heel side |
This one may be a stretch, but seriously, the three stooges at ringside even made a comment about how insanely fast he is for 350 lbs. This is exactly what I hear on iMPACT about Joe. Plus, despite the fact that he has a Cuban manager, Jamal is all dressed up like some crazy tribal Pacific Islander. Plus, it appears he's going to be making people submit rather than doing any pinning. Only, instead of a rear naked choke, he uses the dreaded.... uhhh.... thumb of death I guess. The undefeated some kinda tribal guy submission machine. Yeah, I'm probably just imagining things. (Note: 10 minutes after I initially posted this article to the internet, I went to WWE.com and saw that they have Umaga listed as being from The Isle of Samoa... wow, does my theory have legs?) |
Which one are they trying to make the face here? I'm leaning towards Carlito, but there is a fatal flaw in that logic: he has been the aggressor in this situation, taking cheap shots two weeks in a row. Thus, Masters would be the logical face, but Carlito gets the crowd's support. Wait a minute... am I almost giving a crap about a storyling involving Carlito and Chris Masters? Bravo WWE, I didn't think it could be done. |
It's about damn time. |
I love this storyline. I love Mickie James. This new twist with Trish is nice. I still don't like Trish, but I have to ask, why is she not a brunette? She looked far less skanky than usual. |
What do you do with someone who is a talented athlete, but awful on the mic? Have him watch a match from ringside and do slurred, garbled commentary! After the match, we get RVD on the mic, seeming somewhat lost in the inflection necessary behind his words. |
I'm interested in where they're going with these occasional DX teases. Tonight, Hunter even recited an abridged version of HBK's old nugget speech. I don't even know... |
Should I even attempt to go into this one? No, no I shouldn't, and I won't. I just know that Shawn Michaels isn't a very wise strategist. The one night he could have come to work without getting screwed in some manner, he doesn't show up. Go figure... Ok, I'm done. See, that wasn't really criticism. |
